Most 3v5 PKs are going to employ a triangle formation that remains rather passive, emphasizing the protection of the slot area in front of the net.

Most 3-man PKs will employ a passive approach where the F will simply mirror puck movement to be in shooting lanes while also trying to contain the passing seams

Five on a dice is widely considered the most effective PP formation for breaking down 3-man PK units

Likely the most important part of a successful 5v3 power play: quick puck movement.

Against 3-man PK units, PKers likely aren’t going to chase you, so holding onto the puck for too long does nothing but waste time.
